Take Action On Canada's War on Wolves - The Alberta Wolf Cull

The Alberta government has slaughtered more than 1200 wolves in the name of caribou recovery since 2005, yet the caribou numbers in the Little Smoky and A La Peche have not recovered at all. Meanwhile, the government has continued to allow oil and gas development and forest harvesting and has not set aside a single piece of caribou habitat for protection.

Please take action by writing to the officials listed below and telling them that Alberta needs to immediately implement a Caribou Recovery Plan and put a temporary halt on all oil and gas and forest harvesting activities in the Little Smoky and A La Peche regions until habitat is set aside and protected and a comprehensive range plan is in place. Tell them they also need to immediately protect habitat and put range plans in place for Alberta’s other woodland caribou herds so that those herds can stabilize and begin to grow without ever having to resort to a wolf cull.

We need to put an immediate end to the wolf cull in Alberta, it is not acceptable to kill off one species in a vain attempt to save another when the real culprit is the lack of habitat protection.

Please feel free to ‘Copy and Paste’ sections of this text into your emails, letters and tweets. Please also consider donating to one of the charitable organizations I have listed below to help them in their fight for caribou recovery and ending the wolf cull.

Note that Alberta has a new government in place, so they are more likely to listen to your emails and letters than previous governments may have been.
